New CPM Hybrid Cohort beginning October 2024

We are pleased to announce that UW-Madison, Extension plans to offer the next Wisconsin Certified Public Manager® program starting October 22, 2024.  The Cohort program will be hybrid, allowing you to participate both in-person and virtually, to allow you maximum opportunity to earn the CPM designation. The Cohort’s October class will be in-person, and then move to a full hybrid teaching approach moving forward.


Civil Leadership for Vibrant Communities

Polarization is increasingly impacting Extension’s work in communities. Extension has untapped potential to address division and lack of civility by building civic infrastructure and skills for constructive dialogue.

September 2024 Fall Workshops

In conjunction with the Wisconsin Towns Association, the UW Local Government Center, proudly offers workshops on a variety of topics.  Each September, the two organizations host the Fall Town and Village Workshops.

EMS Model Agreement

The Local Government Education Program at U.W.-Madison Division of Extension teamed up with the U.W.-Madison Wisconsin Office for Rural Health to prepare a Model EMS Agreement (Agreement) for use by counties, cities, villages and towns across the state.
